Notifications For Yoast SEO Scores in WordPress Posts

We’ve written about the PublishPress plugin before on this blog. In one popular post, we showed how to email WordPress users when a new post is published.

In this guide, we’re going to talk more about those notifications. If SEO is really important for your site, we’ll explain how to automatically get notified about the Yoast SEO score for new posts.

PublishPress Pro now supports metadata in notifications.

You can find the metadata for these shortcodes in the _postmeta table. In this case, we’re interesrted in the Yoast SEO metadata for each post in your notifications. Here’s some of the Yoast SEO metadata for a post:

yoast metadata

This shortcode is how you can include the Yoast SEO title in each notification:

[psppno_post meta:_yoast_wpseo_title]

Here’s how you can include the Yoast SEO Content Score in each notification:

[psppno_post meta:_yoast_wpseo_content_score]

Here’s how you can include the Yoast SEO meta description in each notification:

[psppno_post meta:_yoast_wpseo_metadesc]

Let me show you an example of how this works in practice. You can create a notification that looks like this:

Now every time a post is published on our site, you can get an email notification that looks like this:

As you can imagine, this is very useful if you care about SEO. Every time a new post is published on your site, you can instantly see if the SEO data is filled in correctly.
