The Next Decade at OSTraining

The Next Decade at OSTraining

OSTraining’s tenth anniversary is coming up on November 18th!

This is a meaningful milestone, and we owe a huge “Thank You” to OSTraining’s members, viewers and readers. You made this decade possible. Some of you have been with us since even longer – since 2006 and 2007, when we first started training.

Working on OSTraining has led to many wonderful memories. There’s nothing better than talking with someone who says, “An OSTraining class kickstarted my career.” Those conversations happen a few times every year, and I treasure every one.

As the decade mark approaches, I’ve been thinking hard about how to keep us moving onward and upward for the next ten years. My fondest wish is for OSTraining to continue starting careers for many years to come.

So, it’s time for some extra hands around here.

I’d like to say “Welcome Back” to two people who have played key roles in our success so far.

Welcome back, Robbie

First, let me re-introduce Robbie Adair. Robbie has an extensive training background, and she is super excited about taking OSTraining to the next level. Robbie has been teaching with us since 2010 and is very familiar with our approach. She is able to leverage a team of people in her company, Media A-Team. They will help her take the lead in developing and scheduling new content for OSTraining members, as well as some other exciting new offerings in the near future.

When I spoke with Robbie about OSTraining’s future, we both agreed that one of our first steps was to bring Rod Martin back on the team.

Welcome back, Rod

RodRod Martin is known by almost everyone who has watched an OSTraining class. Rod is practically a co-founder of OSTraining with me.

Rod’s been with us since 2009 and has taught OSTraining classes all over North America and Europe.

Rod created about 40% of the videos on this site and he’s been involved with some of our biggest hits, such as the Drupal 8 Beginner class, which has almost three million views on YouTube.

Let’s start OSTraining’s next decade!

Robbie and Rod are people who know and love what we do at OSTraining.

So, starting today, you’ll see more of these familiar faces around here. And, more importantly, you’ll see fresh content more frequently. Speaking of which, we’re going to get a jump on this next decade by introducing a new and timely mini-course: Drupal Layout Builder!

Rod has created a class on the new Drupal layout builder. This is the coolest new feature I’ve seen in Drupal in the last 10 years!

We’ve been teaching Drupal for years, and I’ve never seen students react as positively to a new feature as they do when I teach the new Layout Builder.

The Layout Builder is a game-changer for site builders who want more control over their content without the hassle of custom theming or overrides. This easy-to-use drag-and-drop interface allows you to place your fields and block into sophisticated layouts.

Congratulations Steve on 10 years. You all are doing a fantastic job. My first book on Drupal was written by you and Cindy McCourt. Later, I went to a seminar she did in St. Louis and she really knows her stuff. Rod’s classes gave me my first foray into Drupal development.
You know how to surround yourself with great trainers and great people. Thank you all for all your hard work.

Congratulations on 10 years! I found OSTraining a few years ago and it’s been an invaluable resource for me in better understanding Joomla. Whenever an OSTraining blog post comes up in Google results it’s one I click on first because I know it’s going to contain quality, well thought out content.
