Adding internal link to post breaks responsiveness

3 years 4 months ago #125825 by allfive
WP 4.4.2

When writing content to insert a link, pasting the URL of a prior post embeds that post (or most of it) in the article. Nice feature, but it breaks the responsiveness of the page. Desktop looks fine, tablet and phone - the embed goes into the sidebar.

Look at this on tablet or phone:
artistsunderthedome.org/malc/diya/house-...t-proposal-april-13/

The only thing showing in the editor "Text" view is the link.

No problem with links from outside the WP install.

Hi Allfive,

You need to add some CSS to make the iframe tags responsive. The iframe tag is incharge to render the post.

Add the custom CSS below with the help of this plugin :
.wp-embedded-content {
     width: 100%;
}

Hi Don,

Would you send us some login credentials to support@ostraining.com so we can take a quick look for you? Also, please do two things for us:
1) In the email, include a link to this forum post
and
2) After sending the email, reply to this forum post letting us know you sent the email so that we can check it.

Looking forward to helping.

Kind regards,

Thanks, Nick, for looking into this. Email sent.

Valentin, thanks! What you suggested worked fine.

My template is somewhat old and is not being developed further. That could be an issue. :)

It would be nice to know how to turn the embed feature off and/or shorten the what it embeds, but I'll count my blessings, so far.

Hi Don,

You can totally disable the embeds using wordpress.org/plugins/disable-embeds/ :)

Kind regards,
Nick
