When selecting a menu item link to an article, I am getting the above message. Do you know what may cause this? I am using Joomla 3.0
Thank you.

Hi Brianp,

Could you provide a link to your site and tell me which page is causing this?

Are you using any kind of SEF extension?
Warm Regards,

Tessa Mero

Hi Tessa,
the site is freeexcel-templates.com. It was off line but I just switched it over to online.
If you click on any of the menu items ie: recreation, health, household etc, the same error message comes up.
Thanks.

Hi Brian,

The site is back to offline for me. Please give the following tutorial a try:
www.ostraining.com/blog/joomla/ultimate-joomla-sef-guide/

And also make sure that your articles are published.

Hope this helps!

Kind regards,
Nick

Thanks Brian! Looks like you might be hosting with GoDaddy. If so, give the following a try:

Hi Nick,

In global config, I just changed SEF url's to "No" and now the links are working fine.
However, I reviewed the ultimate Joomla SEF url guide that you sent me and it recommends that you use SEF urls for many reasons. Why would this not work on my site?
Thanks again.

Hi Nick,
yes I am using GoDaddy. I did review the thread. It looks like you went into Anita's site and made a change to "options- multiviews" in the follow sim links code. If there is any chance you could do that for me as well that would be great. I won't offer to kiss you (as Anita did) but I would be greatful. When it comes to code I don't really know where to start. No hurry but if you get a chance that would be great.

Thanks again.

Hi Brian,

Sure thing and don't worry because no kisses are needed :P I can also make a step-by-step tutorial out of it, in case you or someone else needs it for another site.

Your SEF URLs are now working on your site. Enjoy! 😀
