Unable to update Joomla 2.5 site - ERROR: The archive file is corrupt, truncated or archive parts ar 4 years 1 week ago #56433

Hi, I am experiencing this issue with all of my Joomla 2.5 sites. I am developing the sites locally and then uploading them to their respective server's. When I am prompted that there is a joomla update I attempt to install the update but get the following error:

ERROR:
The archive file is corrupt, truncated or archive parts are missing

I have read that the log and tmp address may be incorrect in the pref file but I have not yet been able to correct it.

Please help

Hi and welcome, Chris!

First off, make a backup. Then get the following update package and install it as you would an extension:
joomlacode.org/gf/download/frsrelease/17...le-Patch_Package.zip

Kind regards,
Nick

Thanks for this post Nick.
I was having the same issue. I wasn't aware I could simply install the update as an extension.

Great tip!
Gilles

You're welcome, Gilles!

It's a relatively new feature of Joomla, since around 1.6. Joomla just keeps getting better and better :)

Kind regards,
Nick
