Hello,

I'm sure it's an easy fix, but I just can't find the solution for some reason. I have a registered menu item that I want to make visible to public users and when they click on it send them to a register now page. It's no problem with articles, but I want it to function the same way with my menu items. When I set the menu item to registered users it dissappears unless you are logged in.

Thanks n advance for your help!
Mike

Hi Mike,
if you set the menu item available to the public, but the article the menu item links to as Registerd, the visitor is automatically redirected to a login page.
Is that what you are looking for?

Best regards,
Chantal

No, I'm looking to do that with menu items that are not articles... Examples, SOBI2, a job board, etc..

Hi Mike,

Are you using Joomla 1.5 or 1.6?

Kind regards,
Nick

Hi Mike,

No problem for the delay.

First upgrade your Joomla version 😀
www.ostraining.com/blog/joomla/announcem...-and-how-to-upgrade/

I'm not 100% sure this will work, but you can create a menu call hidden menu and then create your menu items that you want to be registered. Set them obviously to registered and remember the alias. Let's say the alias is someurl, the full url will be www.yoursite.com/someurl

Then in the menu that you want the link to appear create a new menu item of type external link and set the link to www.yoursite.com/someurl. Make the menu item as public.

This is just an idea and I haven't tested it out, but it's worth a shot.

Kind regards,
Nick
