I was just logged in as a user (who is not an admin) and posted a comment on a page. Once I hit post (or save) the comment posted, but at the top of the page they got a notice message. Is there a way to hide notice messages from all except admins?

Hi Kcoonce

Yes, although the downside is that you'll also hide some important messages such as "your password was incorrect" when people try to login.

Do you remember exactly what the message was that you wanted to hide? I'll write a tutorial and show you how.

It gives this message when people post comments:

Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in marinelli_preprocess_comment() (line 204 of E:\Intranet\sites\all\themes\marinelli\template.php).

Warning: array_flip(): Can only flip STRING and INTEGER values! in DrupalDefaultEntityController->load() (line 178 of E:\Intranet\includes\entity.inc).

It repeats each error message 8 times.

Ah, OK. That's an error specific to your template. You're using Marinelli, right?
drupal.org/project/marinelli

I see that error has been encountered by several other people: drupal.org/node/1027804

You mentioned in another thread that you're updating your site. Could you also consider updating your Marinelli version? They claim that will fix the bug.

If you don't want to update the whole theme, drupal.org/node/1027804 has some suggestions for code fixes that should solve this problem.

How do I know if there is an update to the Marinelli theme? Do I just have to download it again / Check their website? Or does it say somewhere in Drupal (similar to modules)?

Hi Kcoonce

Go to the Appearance link in your site and check to see which version of Marinelli you're using.

If it's not 7.x-3.0-beta11, then there's an update for you.

I have 7.x.3.0-beta11. When a new update does come out would it tell me? and if so, where would it say?

HI Koonce,

In your drupal admin go to "Reports" and you will see the link for available updates. Just click that and it will give you a list of everything installed and what updates are available. This would include themes as well as modules.

You also get some good information from running a Status Report. Check it out and you'll see what I mean.

Cheers,
Ed
