multiple add on Domains

multiple add on Domains was created by johnniek2
Hi All,

I got a question,
I have made some link analysys and noticed the company has some more domains (add on domains) that point to the same website on the same hosting package:

www.magnum-nautica.hr/
www.magnumadria.com/

they both point to the main domain: www.magnumnautica.com

what should we do in terms of SEO, is it hurting?

Can you check this please, all domains when I view source code have the canonical tag which is confusing and dont know how to avoid that in joomla?

Hi Johnnie,

Yes, that definitely hurts your SEO big time and/or has the potential to hurt it big time. Our recommendation is to 301 redirect the extra domains to the main domain.

Kind regards,
Nick

can you give a more specific direction?
remove it from Control panel?
or only add it trough control panel?

cPanel yes,
do they need to be removed as addon domain?
what else needs to be done?

Great, you can leave them as addon domains and redirect them using:
docs.cpanel.net/twiki/bin/view/AllDocume...20addon%20domain%20r

Hi Johnnie,

That's ambiguous and unclear to me, but it sounds like they might be referring to multiple domains that point to the same folder. Were you able to do the redirect though?

Kind regards,
Nick

well, I did what you said, left them as add on domains and trough the redirect settings on each domain created a redirect...can you somehow see if thats the correct 301 redirect?
