malware virus no one can find

11 years 5 months ago #48 by
I have <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href=" www.irystreet.com "> www.irystreet.com </a><!-- w --> when we opened it this weekend in Joomla training Steve found a malware virus. Steve said to call GoDaddy and have them check into it, so I did and they said nothing was wrong, <!-- s:evil: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_evil.gif" alt=":evil:" title="Evil or Very Mad" /><!-- s:evil: --> it was on our network. Had a long talk and to still no answer I said there is no way that Florence SC and Atlanta GA 300 miles away from each other could be on the same network. So what can I do next? I was thinking build a new webpage and upload it would that cover the malware file?? How do I find the file or get rid of it??? I have had 4 different people that have tried to open it and they get a pharmicy4you.com something something . Does anyone know what I can do..

Hi Eddie

OK - that's on more black mark against GoDaddy for me.

You've got some obvious hackers code at the top and bottom of your index.php.

On your site's homepage look for this code at the top and bottom:

[code:pjfvjghs]< script language="javascript" >
document&#46;write( unescape( &#46;&#46;&#46;
</script>[/code:pjfvjghs]

Here's a link with a similar attack:
[url:pjfvjghs]http&#58;//forum&#46;joomla&#46;org/viewtopic&#46;php?f=432&t=323877&start=0&sid=803050d119cffd461068448e7d6b348f[/url:pjfvjghs]

Here's what to do:

1) Download a full, fresh version of Joomla from joomla.org
2) Drag and drop all the files onto your site and overwrite EVERY SINGLE FILE

May as well do it now.

However, the files you need to replace aren't template files.

The first and most important is index.php right in the center of your site files.

Can you try Ctrl + A or something similar to select all files?

First of all - just do index.php
