problems with Virtumart

problems with Virtumart was created by tanya.ahedo
I had a Virtumart install that went bad. I wiped out my joomla install, reinstalled fresh and put my articles in from backup.

It seemed to work for a couple of days but now is giving me the same problem...clicking on an article gives me a 404 error ( www.bosendorfersupport.com ). The catch here is that everything worked for a couple of days.

I've checked the directories for left over VM components but found nothing specifically notated as VM or Virtual mart.

My guess is I did not do the reinstall correctly, but now I'm in a jam and am considering re-entering my articles by hand...please tell me it won't come to that!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Eric

This looks like an SEF problem to me rather than Virtuemart.

Can you go to Site >> Global Configuration >> Search Engine Friendly URLs >> No

Make sure the other two options are no also.

well, your genius status is intact..that fixed it.

So now I'm curious...am I denied SEF URL's for the life of the site now?

Not at all. We'll get it working easily for you.

Which of the three boxes did you have checked?

Hi Eric

"Does the answer include SH404SEF?" ... could you clarify that question a little?

If you're using sh404SEF, leave all three boxes unchecked.

Hi Steve

I'm not using shef404 but trying to think ahead. Can I use the SEF button in Joomla 1.5?

If you're using sh404SEF, set all SEF three buttons in Global Configuration to No

sh404SEF actually does a really good SEO job with Virtuemart.
