Moving photos within an article in JCE

Moving photos within an article in JCE was created by savethefrogs
Hi,
I have a photo in an article and I use JCE. I am trying to move it to a position lower in the article. Clicking on it and dragging won't move it. The Cut/Copy Paste function only pastes its alt tag text, not the photo. It would be very time consuming to have to re-insert the photo from scratch. How can I easily move the photo to a different part of the article?
Thanks, Kerry

Hi Kerry,

Right click over the image > Cut

Then click in the area where you want to paste the image and press keys: Ctrl + V:

Hi Valentin,
When I Cmd+V to paste all I get is the text of the Alt tag.
When I right click to paste I get nothing.
When I use the icon in the editor to paste I get nothing.
Sorry this sounds like we're in 1998...but it's not working :(

Which browser are you using? I tested in Firefox with no problem

May you share an screenshot of how editing an article with image looks in your end? I feel I'm missing something

Hi Valentin,
I tried Chrome and Firefox, and I cannot move images to other locations in the article in either. i use JCE. I tried right click to cut and paste and i also tried command-x and command-v. I found this article:

www.joomlacontenteditor.net/support/foru...e-image-under-chrome
Their instructions ask me to go to /components/com_jce/editor/tiny_mce/plugins/upload/ but I have no folder called editor inside of com_jce

I've attached a screenshot. If I write long articles with lots of photos I will inevitably want to re-arrange the order of the images. I currently can't do this unless I go delete and then re-insert the image using the Image Manager.

Hi Kerry,

This would require a manual effort. Switch the JCE editor into HTML mode, and move the <img> tag that render the image to the right location.

Kind regards,
Valentín

Hi Valentin,
Is it normal to have to switch to HTML to move an image? It seems like easily moving an image would be a pretty basic feature.

Is not common, but based on the problems you're facing, editing from the HTML is a safer way to define the location for your images.

Hopes this clarification helps
