Sidebar scroll

5 years 7 months ago #123451 by JoomlaNovice
Sidebar scroll was created by JoomlaNovice
Template I am using - Joomlashine Blank
Ref site - video-editing.softwareinsider.com/compar...Pinnacle-Studio-18-5
The site has a menu on the top, one main content area along with one left and one right sidebar.
If you observe the *right* sidebar and scroll down, the main content scrolls down, as well as the right sidebar. The sidebar and main content keeps scrolling, till it reaches the bottom content of the right sidebar, thereafter, the right sidebar stops scrolling, and on further scrolling, the main content scrolls down but the bottom of right sidebar is still shown.

Now, when you start scrolling up the page, the main body as well as the sidebar starts scrolling up, till the right sidebar content is at the top after which the right sidebar stops scrolling, and on further page scroll in upward direction, only mainbody is scrolled.

How do I accomplish this?

Hi JoomlaNovice,
the scrolling looks nice for me, btw.

Now, when you start scrolling up the page, the main body as well as the sidebar starts scrolling up, till the right sidebar content is at the top after which the right sidebar stops scrolling, and on further page scroll in upward direction, only mainbody is scrolled.

How do I accomplish this?

It sounds like a feature request for the template developer.

Kind regards,
Valentín

The site I linked to was reference site :p its not mine, its sidebar effect is something I would like to have
Btw, I was looking for a code I could add, like in this demo - blog.hartleybrody.com/wp-content/uploads.../05/sticky-demo.html instructions here - blog.hartleybrody.com/creating-sticky-si...at-scrolls-with-you/
However, the demo is quite like facebook ads you see on facebook, the ads stay with you as you scroll down. Meanwhile, I am looking for some code more like video-editing.softwareinsider.com/compar...Pinnacle-Studio-18-5 :)
If I knew what this is technically called, I would have googled :p

Hi JoomlaNovice,
Thanks for the clarification!

I still think that is a feature the template should include. Certainly you could add a similar fixed feature to a module as this tutorial explains, however it requires more than just CSS.

Kind regards,
Valentín
