External php login to joomla

5 years 9 months ago #121417 by snmjoomla
External php login to joomla was created by snmjoomla
I have some custom php site/code which I would be able to use same login as joomla.
What is best way for me to embed a login form for joomla in an external php file.
I have come across few posts like forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=707&t=875250&view=previous but I have not had any luck so far and so appreciate any help

Hi and welcome, snmjoomla!

One quick caveat before we start, please check out our Support FAQ on the limit of our support for code: www.ostraining.com/support-faq/

That being said, we’d be happy to point you in the right direction.

You can use an extension like JFusion to provide most of SSO (Single Sign On) functionality that you need:
www.ostraining.com/blog/joomla/jfusion/

Here is there developer documentation to get started:
www.jfusion.org/wiki/doku.php?id=dev:intro

Hope this helps! Let us know if you have any questions and we'll be glad to answer.

Kind regards,
Nick

Thanks
The way I understood JFusion allows is by synchornizing users.
In this case my use case is very simple,
- From external website provide login username and password box so that user can login to Joomla
Basically need to provide login box on external php/html website.

Is JFusion right solution for me

Hi snmjoomla,

Please give a try to the tutorial Nick posted above. Download JFusion for Joomla 3.x from this page: www.jfusion.org/component/ars/repository/jfusion/jfusion-2-1

Let us know if you have any concern, we will do our best to assist you.

Kind regards,
Valentín

Hi snmjoomla,

Yes, it should be able to do that, but you'll need to create a custom JFusion plugin for your PHP site.

Kind regards,
Nick
