Duplicate background images?

Duplicate background images? was created by Zusamna
Is there a way to put a background image on top of another image?

Here is our Heliophysics Home page on Drupal:
vsptest.ucar.edu/heliophysics/home

I'd like to have the sun in the background as it is on our static site:
www.vsp.ucar.edu/Heliophysics/

If this isn't possible, and instead of the current background image, I designed one image that includes the current image plus the sun, what would the dimensions be? It seems to me that that would interfere with responsive sites in the future, to just have one large image.
Thanks, Susanne

Hi Susanne,

It will all be down to your theme, You need a global background to do what you want and then a main content region background/container. Did you theme this yourself? You don't appear to have a main content container defined if you themed this yourself you could add one. As for size make it as big as possible px wise and use % when applying it so it is responsive.

div id featured and wrap need to be put inside another div to apply the background so and then you would have your header and a background for your content.

Thanks

Thank you Daniel!

This is the "Atmos Theme" designed for all of UCAR. I have the ability to customize it, and really appreciate your feedback. I'm not sure I can customize to the extent you're suggesting, but I have a much better idea of what this would entail. I may have to use the sun in a new creative way.

Thank you!

Hi Susanne,

You could always try split the image in 2 parts a top and bottom and experiment with it if you assign it into those regions on a % base it should still line up if done right.

Thanks
Daniel
