shortcuts not showing for editor

shortcuts not showing for editor was created by Juc2
HI all,

My D7 site has two roles - administrator and editor who both use the Seven theme as the Administration theme. The default shortcut set has just two links - /node/add and /admin/content. The shortcuts show up fine (top left) for the administrator role but they do not show for the editor role. An editor can choose the default shortcut set at /user/3/shortcuts but there are no shortcuts to click in the top left. I guess it could be a permissions issue but if so I can't see which permission I am missing. Any ideas please what is wrong?

Thanks...

Hi Juc2,

It is indeed a permissions issue what permissions are you wanting this person to have access to be able to do on the site?

Thanks,
Daniel

Hi Daniel

I just want the editor role to be able to see and click on the shortcut links. Here is how it looks for the admin role:

Thanks,

Julian

Hi Julian,

Have you gone into people and select permissions at the top.
scroll down about half way to the shortcuts section and check that the user has the permissions ticked to use the shortcut and that the user has that user profile.

Thanks,
Daniel

Hi Julian,

Can you please provide me with a list of the permissions you have assigned to this use so I can check them for you.

Thanks,
Daniel

Hi Julian,

Thanks for providing me that I think we will be coming back to that picture in a moment.

The default way of accessing the shortcut bar is by giving a user permission to access the Toolbar I noticed you have this completely disabled, are you using another module in it's place? If so do you know which module you are using ? I guess you could enable it just for this class of user but presumably you are using a more advanced tool bar so we should probably give them access to that. Hope that makes sense any other questions feel free to ask.

Thanks,
Daniel

@ Daniel - the Toolbar was enabled (not sure why administrator permission was not checked) but the problem is fixed by ticking the toolbar permission for the editor. Problem solved = thanks!
