Problem in applying jCarousel

5 years 6 months ago #123632 by iqsafe
Problem in applying jCarousel was created by iqsafe
I have been adding the a jCarousel to the site LINK . I have followed the instructions of your tutorial accurately. At first there had been too small display that I later modified from my custom css file. I increased the file width and height. When I display only one photo, it displays normally, but when I increase the number let's say to two the images get cut in width as you will see in the website. How can I tackle this. I tried to increase the width of the area that contains images but it did not work can you help me please. Also please note that the navigation arrows does not adjust itself with increase of height. Your help is very much appreciated.

Hi iqsafe,

Let's start by adding this custom CSS:
.jcarousel-skin-default .jcarousel-item {
	width: auto !important;
}

Clear cache and see how it looks

Kind regards,
Valentín

Glad to be back with you for a question. Is there an alternative for jCarousel for displaying pictures in the content region rather than the sidebar as I did with the site Binocular . The motive behind this question that I noted that jCarousel has some limitation on the height especially when applied to the content region. A friend of mine wanted to put the pictures in bigger sizes than they currently appear on the sidebar. I much appreciate your help and ideas.

Hi iqsafe,

You can use a number of different modules to display images in the content section if you look at the "manage display" field for your "image" you can often define extra default rules such as using a thumb nail or bigger image by default.

Personally I would look see if you have other options you didn't realise with jCarousel before installing additional image handling modules.

Thanks,
Daniel
