Is there a way to see what modules are unused so I can delete them?

Hi Zusamna

Unfortunately not, I suspect partially because whether a module is "used" is a very tenuous concept. It might only be used on one page or perhaps only as a requirement for another module.

The only true way to do this might be to create a test site and disable a module to see if it breaks anything.

Hope you don't mind me chiming in here Steve but, If you are on 7.39+ or 8 and try to deactivate a module that is in use you will get a warning message and it will either prompt you to stop or stop immediately. With a message saying data exists .... to remove these modules you must first delete the data entries.

You have to do it 1 module at a time. Always get rid of modules you are not using it affects performance. Always do a back up first though just to be 100% sure here is the back up link.

Hi Susanne,

Also, please give the "Unused Modules" module a try:

By the way, Module Filter can be used to make it easier to sort through all your modules that you have installed. Here's our tutorial on it:

@dclpuk , thanks for the additional info! That's always helpful. And great points, by the way.

Kind regards,
Nick
