Upload possibility in simplenews? E-mail limits

5 years 7 months ago #122328 by davidmcmurrey
Thanks for tuning me on to this lovely module. Couple of questions:

I don't see anything about uploading attachments. Would that be just adding a field to the simplenews template?

I think Brian says Drupal does not limit number of e-mails to be sent; the host does. Right? I have a faculty of 36 which I'm thinking would work without configuring.

But I have a current/former student e-mail list of 368. My host is JustHost.com. I would to have to ask those guys, right. But is cron function a way around the problem?

Hi David

I'd need to talk through the issue of uploads a little more. I suspect you'd have a huge problem with spam filters if you started attaching files to emails like that. Might it be better to include a download link in the email.

Yes, that's correct with hosting companies, and again that's for spam fighting reasons. Each hosting company should make it clear to you what limit they have set up. Here's Siteground as an example: www.siteground.com/kb/do_you_offer_a_mas...is_there_any_limita/

Cron won't be able to help here. That's just another way to trigger the email sending.
