Drupal panel

Drupal panel was created by bigmedia13
Hi
I am developing a Drupal 7 site using views and panels. I have created several views pulling in content that pertains to a particular taxonomy - category pages.

I want to create a panel for these category pages with three columns that pulls the category view into the centre pane. Do I have to manually create a variant for each view?

Thanks

Hi bigmedia13,

You can use a panel with a 3 columns layout, there are a few options available:

Do this for each page.

Kind regards,
Valentín

let me rephrase:

I want to create views using the contextual filter. So each time a new category is created a new view is created and then I want to put that contextual view into a panel.

I know how to use the panel builder but I don't know how to link the new pages created by each dynamic view into a menu.

Any advice?

To recap

lots of pages each with a category taxonomy
I create a view using contextual filter
now I want to put that view into a panel and link each page that reflects a different category to a menu.

Possible?

Hi bigmedia13

Sorry, for the slow reply. We were trying to think of ways to unpack this as it's a complex request.

Have you managed to do both of these steps, or do you need help?

Step 1) Activate the Panels template for taxonomy pages.
Step 2) Create the view with the contextual filters and place it inside the taxonomy panel page?

The trickiest part is Step 3 - adding these Panels to a menu. Menus are very clunky, limited features in Drupal and hard to manipulate. It might be best to create a View that looks like a menu. You can use Views to automatically add a link to each category.
