Private file directory pathname

Private file directory pathname was created by jcross
I've added to the User content an image field that is unlimited in size - and the upload destination is PRIVATE. If I keep "File directory" blank - the photos disappear upon rebooting the server.

I'm trying to understand "how" to specify a path to "File directory". The wording under the field states "Optional subdirectory within the upload destination where files will be stored. Do not include preceding or trailing slashes. This field supports tokens."

If my site is named "TS" - where would the upload directory be found? If I do a "find / -name upload" nothing is found. I have Clean IRL's turned on if this makes any difference.

Hi jcross,

the photos disappear upon rebooting the server.

This is odd and it seems a setup affecting the server, more than a Drupal issue.

I'm trying to understand "how" to specify a path to "File directory". The wording under the field states "Optional subdirectory within the upload destination where files will be stored. Do not include preceding or trailing slashes. This field supports tokens."

Don't use slash in the begining neither in the end.
A couple of examples:
  • myfolder/someplace
  • myfolder

If those folders doesn't exist, it would be created automatically.

Please give a try and then create a test content to check if works as you expected

Kind regards,
Valentín
