Hi

In a given scenario, If I am making a site related to fruits.

I have a list of 1000 fruits ( along with respective information against each fruit , such as price, Image & benefits ) ( as shown in image below).

One way to do this is to add content 1000 times , my question is that is there a easier way.

Like I insert the entire table in drupal, and when, apple is searched , the required information is displayed in a formatted display, following is an example image for it.

kindly guide, please.

regards
Ahmed

Hi Ahmed,

If I follow you:

Do you need the single fruit page looks like the first screenshot, and the list of search results displayed as the second image?

Kind regards,
Valentín

Hi

No, Thats not what I want.

Following is the display page required.

The above is done by going to >> add content and by filling in the information ( once in case of apple related page) and above content is displayed.[ reference row 1 in the image below ( list ).

By filling this once I get a content page displaying information related to apples .

Now what if I had to upload similar information about 1000 fruits of the world, will I have to go to add content and repeat the procedure 1000 times ? , that would give me 1000 content pages.

Following is a summary ( or you may say data / list ) that I want to have displayed as shown in above image ( each row/line represents data that I would like to have displayed on a single display page ) as shown in case of apples page above..

1st row apple gave me above display page of apple .
2nd row banana would give me display page of banana and so on.

For my ease , I was wondering if it is possible that ,one could save the list ( database ) in drupal, and when ever a respective fruit is searched, drupal would output the data in a formatted manner as shown below.

This would save me, adding content 1000 times.

Another way to look at this is that if I was putting up a site of world wide hotels, and suppose there were 5 million hotels, would drupal want me to upload each page of respective hotel, that would mean that I have to add content 5 million times.

I hope you understand what I am trying to explain here.

regards
Ahmed

Hi Ahmed,

If you create the table and export it as a CSV file, you can import it using the Feeds module. Here's our tutorial on it:
