Get photos in Panels to display horizontally

6 years 1 month ago #116919 by jcross
I've been trying to get Panels to take a table of images and display them horizontally, not vertically.

I've combed through the tickets others have opened on this subject. Most everyone recommends CSS code and doing either a "float: left;" or "display: inline;".

I've attached several acreen shots:

Panel1.jpg shows within the variant where the CSS code is placed.

Panel2.jpg shows the bottom region with Panels the photos are to be placed.

Panel3.jpg shows the CSS Class to be created

Panel4.jpg shows the inspection of the element within IE. This screen shot clearly shows the CSS Class shown in Panels1.jpg & Panels3.jpg is there along with the code. The photos however are still displaying vertically, not horizontally.

Finally, Panel5.jpg shows the Content called "Events" with the field containing the photos.

I've been trying to debug this issue for 3 days and have come to the conclusion I need another set of eyes looking at this to see what I'm doing wrong, or provide a work around.

Note: Doing a "display: inline;" doesn't appear to do anything. Within the Inspect Element I can isolate a piece of code and put in the "float: left;" code and this works - BUT - it really does strange things to the Admin Menu (makes it so I cannot select anything).

Thanks.

Hi jcross,

May we have a link of this page to see if some custom CSS can make it work?

Kind regards,
Valentín

The final solution took some digging. It appears the CSS code I put within the Panels variant was not "close enough" the the DIV statements where the photos were being displayed. I actually had to go into the twocol_stacked.css file and add the code there. It's now working.

I learn more everyday which is a good thing!

Hi jcross

It's difficult to debug CSS without being able to see the site, but I wonder if another possibility is available here.

I'm going to test something out for you quickly ...
