Images cropped using “prettyPhoto”

Images cropped using “prettyPhoto” was created by cesaralex
Hi there,

i'm producing content for a website, and i'm facing a problem with some images, that are cropped.

You can see the issue here: imexmoto.com/conteudos/campanha/campanha...al--mv-agusta15-113/
In the "Imagens" tab at the right side, when you click in one image to zoom.

Has anyone faced the same problem. Any idea how to solve it?

Thanks in advance.

Hi cesaralex,

The images files are indeed cropped by default. See this for example: imexmoto.com/images/e8/campaignimages113_img_20151127170323.jpg

It's not related to prettyPhoto. If you're using a software to cropp images, you need to check from that point.

Kind regards,
Valentín

Hi cesaralex,

You'll have to scale/crop the original image to the proportions of popup or resize/scale the popup to the dimensions of the original image.

Which approach would you like to take?

Kind regards,
Nick

Hi to both! And thanks for your answers!

I only insert pictures on a backoffice manager, where i can select the width (usualy 700px). I think the pictures are cropped once i upload them. The problem is on the "gallery" on the right, that allows to see them in zoom mode.
The best option would be to hide the pictures on the right, or change the code, so the pictures coul be displayed on its original size (width of 700px and height varies) depending on the communication produced.

Sorry for not being clear in my previous comment. The images are cropped not because prettyPhoto, maybe the backoffice manager process the files and do the cropp on the fly.

Which software do you use to manage the images?

Kind regards,
Valentín

Hi Valentin,

you maybe right, i can´t choose the size when i upload, but only when i insert the pictures on the article. And i've noticed the pictures are already cropped after the upload. So the problem must be on the manager upload process.

This image is hidden for guests.

I usualy use photoshop for editing pictures. And insert them with 700px on the backoffice, that has an option to upload pictures for each article.

It seems a custom backoffice manager. Am I right?

Check what's the recommended size for every picture to the developer of the picture manager.

Kind regards,
Valentín

Yes, thats correct! It's a custom backoffice manager.

When i arrived, the website was already made. For example, in this case: www.imexmoto.com/conteudos/campanha/brut...de-irresistivel-112/
the picture is ok. And i've inserted it with 700px width. Only the height is different.

Thanks.

Any chance you can contact to the original developer so he can addapt the software to your needs? i.e. avoid cropping the images from certain sizes

Kind regards,
Valentín

I can try, but i'm not sure if it's possible.

I thought it could be something i could find and change on the code. Or something i was doing wrong on the image sizing, but i can´t find where.

Thanks.

Hi Valentin,

i'm not good with php, i only use more often html and css. With php, i only do some changes, but just simple things.

I've googled to find any information, but i've only found information related to "prettyPhoto". Now i see the problem must be on the upload and in the content manager configuration.

Yes, that's what I think. The php that upload the images is cropping the files.

I recommend you to hire a developer, we have recommended WordPress , Joomla and Drupal devs. Since you're not using none of them the three categories may help you in case you want to email them for a quote.

Kind regards,
Valentín

Just one more question: I'm facing a problem with youtube videos displayed on the same website.

You can see the problem here: www.imexmoto.com/conteudos/especial-mv-agusta/

The videos are freezed, and i can´t figure out why that's happening.

Thanks.

The CSS from the footer is overlaying the videos. That's why you can click on the play buttons.

In file: /css/style.css, around line:2355, remove these properties for .footer class:
position: relative;
z-index: 2;

End result would be:
.footer {
    background: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0) url("../imgs/foot-strip.png") repeat-x scroll center bottom;
    padding: 20px 0 40px;
    width: 100%;
}

Kind regards,
Valentín
