Updated Site. Updated Features.

moved site

Over the last couple of months we’ve been working hard on updating the software that runs ostraining.com. This weekend, we finally completed those updates.

We tried hard to make the transition as smooth as possible, so hopefully you won’t immediately notice many differences.

However, there are two major improvements on the new site.

1. New Support Forum

We upated our support forum. All your posts and attachment were imported and the URLs remain exactly the same.

One of the best new forum features is the unified menu. You can now do everything you need to on the forum from one neatly-organized menu:

2. New Ideas Area

We have added an Ideas area. This is a completely new feature on ostraining.com. You can suggest which classes you’d like to see created by our teachers. Would you like a class on Virtuemart for Joomla? On building subscription sites in Drupal? On responsive design in WordPress? Let us know!

Find Any Bugs?

It is likely that there will be a bugs that escaped our testing. If you find any, please email support@ostraining.com and we’ll fix them as soon as can.

More Details on the Update

The major update we made was moving OSTraining from Joomla 1.5 to Joomla 2.5.

Next week, we’ll publish a full breakdown of what we did to update the site. We’ll give you advice, based on what we learned from making the move.

Later this month, we’re going to publish a full class on updating from 1.5 to 2.5.
