I ran couple of clean installations on woocommerce
I checked the db and it's on innodb.

but it's not showing my products in shopping carts anyone has any idea why this may be?

This is most often associated with sessions not being set properly on the server. Are you by any chance using GoDaddy servers?

As a general note, consider also checking session.save_path directive in php.ini It must be a folder writable by the server in order for sessions to be saved.

Since you're new to the forum, I don't know your skill level yet. If you don't know how to check this let me know.

For my learning what lead you to believe this is the case?

It's on a media temple dedicated virtual (dv) server and have a plesk control panel.
I'm very much a n00b to back-end development. This is the first time I'm actually responsible for managing a server as well. I can use ftp and have very basic knowledge of using SSH.

I've experienced this before, so I had to do a lot of research to fix it. That's what it was the last time I dealt with it, but we're still not sure yet.

If you can you should submit this to woocommerce tech suppport or forum as well, since somebody there may have already solved it or they have a patch for it.

I'll look into it and see if I can write you some simple steps. In the meantime it wouldn't hurt to get familiar with your php.ini file.

Fixed it :) you are right that was the problem...

This is what I did...

Created a <?php phpinfo(); ?> to locate the php.ini file based on instructions here: www.ostraining.com/blog/coding/phpini-file/

Set the file/folder permission to be 777 rwxrwxrwx.

Using SSH logged in to server and ran the following command to restart apache

You were very resourceful in getting this fixed. Congratulations. You did something many people would have been afraid to attempt. You should be proud of yourself.

For security you might want to see if it will still work with permissions 755 on that folder. That is a bit more secure than 777. Just a suggestion. Do what works.
