TOPIC: uploading via cart or ftp?

uploading via cart or ftp? 1 year 4 weeks ago #44421

Hi,

I'm trying to add some downloadable products to my store. I'm uploading zip files from my computer. However, when I try to publish the products it's not publishing or taking a very long time. However, if I navigate a way from that page & go to products it's there on the list and so I'm not sure if it was successful.

Is there a reason for this? Would it be better to upload via ftp? If so, how would I be able to connect the downloadable files to the products? Also, is there a way of checking if the upload was successful?

Sorry for asking so many questions today, I'm just a bit confused by all the 'downloadable' product options & restrictions.

Thanks

Hi Rachel,

No problem! That's why we're here :)

If you see it on the list then it sounds like it's been successful. Try a free download to be sure.

Sometimes upload functions aren't the most optimized and take a while to load. If you're not uploading a lot of products at one time, then FTP is usually not needed. Plus, FTP is not enough as you would have to edit the database as well and that gets complicated.

Kind regards,
Nick
