I guess WordPress has to come first, but I wonder if there's a recommended sequence for installing and configuring BuddyPress and bbPress to get a more-or-less complete "social" site that can serve as a collaborative intranet or extranet?

For instance, both BuddyPress and bbPress seem to have user profiles -- do the profiles remain entirely separate, or will one of them use the profiles set up for the other?

Are there any other plugins that should be part of the starting configuration?

Thanks.

Hi rsteer,

Wordpress first, then BuddyPress, then forums.

Here's a really good video about BuddyPress and forums including bbpress:

BuddyPress' profiles are used by default, however you can use the Disable bbPress Profile Override plugin to override it to use bbPress instead:

Kind regards,
Nick
