I am unable to upload images onto my WP which is installed in WAMP server.

What do I have to do to get them to load?

Hi Bonnie,

You should be able to upload them through the media manager. What is happening when you try to upload. Are you getting an error message?

Have you checked the uploads directory to see if anything was uploaded when you were dont?

Let us know.

Hi Bonnie,

What browser and browser version are you using? Could you give it a try in another browser?

Kind regards,
Nick

Hi Bonnie,

Just start your other browser by double clicking on it then enter the URL of your site. That's it :)

Kind regards,
Nick

Can't do that. I tried uploading the Startbox child theme from OSTraining and it screwed up my server.

I got this message:

Warning: require_once(/home/baggitz/public_html/wp-content/themes/startbox/includes/functions/startbox.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/baggitz/public_html/wp-content/themes/startbox-child/functions.php on line 4

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/baggitz/public_html/wp-content/themes/startbox/includes/functions/startbox.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/baggitz/public_html/wp-content/themes/startbox-child/functions.php on line 4

I have no idea how to resolve this either.

Hi Bonnie,

This isn't the kind of error you would get on a WAMP server.
Warning: require_once(/home/baggitz/public_html/wp-content/themes/startbox/includes/functions/startbox.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/baggitz/public_html/wp-content/themes/startbox-child/functions.php on line 4

Are we dealing with two different issues here?

This error doesn't indicate that there is anything wrong with your server. It is telling you that a file is missing. Either it didn't get uploaded or the path is wrong. The path that it shows would be more usual for a commercial server not a WAMP server.

Which problem are we trying to solve?

Please let us know.
Cheers,
Ed

Ed, I realise that they are 2 different problems, I only mentioned it because you asked about the URL.

The WAMP server is on local host.

I would like to sort both but I would lie to sort uploading of images and the widget problem.

I have installed wordpress onto WAMP server again and everything seems to be working.

I will post my other problem to separately. I hope you can help me sort that issue.

Hi Bonnie,

Glad your first problem got fixed. Sometimes reloading fixes things really well. And thanks for opening up another topic. You get faster answers that way and we can keep things straight more easily.

I'll check your new post.

Cheers,
Ed
