Hi!
I'm following the new tutorials: Overview of Custom Content Types. I created a custom Content Type and now I'm trying to create a template file to show the information. I went to my theme: 1350 and looked for archive.php, single.php, but I couldn't find loop.php.
What can I do now?
Thanks a lot for your response.

Hi again!

I finally copyed and modified the archive.php, changing it to archive-news.php and apparently it works fine. (I couln't find any loop.php file).

Now, since I want the archive to show up when I click on "News", I've included it in the menu by creating a custom link and pointing to www.siloscordoba.com/w/news/ in order to get the list of posts.

The problem is that in my menu, "News" should be a child of "Company". I think it should make more sense to have an URL like this:
www.siloscordoba.com/w/company/news/

How can I change this?

Thanks a lot for your help. Best regards,

Maria Jose Lopez

Does you theme support custom menus? It should be easy to move your link to a subordinate position in custom menus.

How did you create the menu?

Hi Ed,
Yes, my theme supports custom menus. I moved "News" to a subordinate position, but the fact of moving it does not mean that the URL will change. The URL for the news archive is: www.siloscordoba.com/w/news/ and I don't know how to change it to www.siloscordoba.com/w/company/news/

Another solution could be to create a page with this url (such as this one I created: www.siloscordoba.com/w/company/news/) and then call the post archive. Is that feasible? How can I call the archive from a page?

Thanks a lot for your answer.

An easy way to resolve this might be to install the All in One SEO Pack.

There is a section that shows you the set up for each content type and allows you to customize it. I attached a screen shot. You can also look at this tutorial we have on it. www.ostraining.com/blog/wordpress/all-in-one-seo-pack/

That might help because you will have all your permalink structures in one place and you can edit them properly.

Cheers,
Ed

You're welcome, Maria.

That extension is really handy. I don't know why WordPress doesn't do that on the permalinks configuration. Seems much more logical.

You're site is really looking good. Keep at it.

Cheers,
Ed
