Hi again,

I got another problem. When I work in WP, I mostly use HTML view to add content with html code for easier styling. Now I got a problem. When I switch to WYSIWYG some <span>`s and other codes are disappearing for some reason making the whole styling and all my work go in vain (how frustrating...after sometimes many hours work) Is there any plugin or trick to make it stay intact?

Thank you

Anna
Enjoy you day :)

Hi Anna,

Have you tried saving it before switching from html editor to wysiwyg editor?

Also would it be a problem to turn off wysiwyg? :-)
Warm Regards,

Tessa Mero

Hi Tessa,

Yes I always, always save before switching to wysiwyg :) I only do this because the theme I working with has shortcodes in wysiwyg.

But my biggest concern is that when I develop site for client, and they will need to add content in wysiwyg, all my work may disappear.

Hi Anna,

This is a common problem. WordPress strips out code when you save it. There are plugins for more WYSIWYG control. Are you using one of the plugins or are the native Wordpress editor?

Let me know.
Ed

Hi Ed,

I did notice some   missing after switching to WYSIWYG then even more, like spans and even some images. Weird. Maybe it because I instaled the J Shortcodes plugin and ticked to disable WP wpautop filter?
In general I use TinyMCE Advanced or default WP depending on client requirements. Is there any good plugin that will help me save my work? For now I just copy the whole HTML and save as text on my machine, just in case. But on the long run it may be bit difficult :)

Hi Anna,

Check out Version Control. We have some recommendations in this article that might help you out.

The front end editor might be of interest as well.

Let me know if this is helpful.

Cheers,
Ed

Hi Anna

Two more plugin recommendations from me to help you with this:

wordpress.org/extend/plugins/raw-html/
wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-unformatted/
Ask. We'll help. It's as simple as that.

Hi Steve,

Thank you so much. The raw html looking quite good. I may go for the pro version actually. Seams like it will do the job.

Best regards
Anna
