Hi,

I was just watching one of your Cart66 tutorials. I've already installed it & got to know it myself. I haven't been able to add categories though. I won't be using this on a theme that doesn't include ecommerce in it's layout. I would like to add categories, category/catelogue pages & a product category list or menu. Is that possible with cart66? I couldn't find any info on that on their site, so I'm guessing it's not.

Thanks

Are you using the Lite version or the Professional version?

Cheers,
Ed

Hi Ed,

I was using the Cart66 lite, but I guess by the fact that you're asking which version I'm using that I probably need the Pro. In that case I might look at Shopp or Wordpress Shopping Cart as they have a nice layout, categories & are $30 cheaper.

I don't suppose any of you happen to know of a good but free/cheap shopping cart that works with categories on themes that weren't build on their framework? I've done quite a lot of research on this but they all seem pretty similar, which makes it hard to decide.

Thanks

Hi Rachel,

You're right. They are all very similar. Mostly I've used WooCommerce and Jigo Cart, but it's just a matter of preference.

I would suggest a commercial version and make sure you can get good support. They all need to be tweaked and can be very troublesome. You'll have a lot of questions and they will have the best answers.

Good Luck
Cheers,
Ed
