As per your recommendations, have obtained Dreamweaver 5.5.

Am building my Joomla 2.5 site usin a Rocket Theme template using XAMPP for my local host.

Am trying to open my site in Dreamweaver, but appear to be having pa problem. Details as follow:

Setup assets in Dreamweaver - site name = {site name} as per folder name in htdocs
Local Site Folder - C:\xampp\htdocs\gruntfiles (site name)
Servers - localhost C:/xampp/
connection - local/network
Testing - checkbox ticked
Web URL - http://localhost/gruntfiles

I can see the files in the Local Files panel, and am able to open individual files via the panel, but don't appear able to open my site and see it in dreamweaver - am I doing something wrong?

Cheers
Keith

Hi Keith,

I don't have dreamweaver anymore to test this out for you. But try removing the http:// from in front of the Web URL in the dreamweaver connection info. If that doesn't work, reply to the forum so we can pick the thread up in the morning when someone with Dreamweaver on their computer is here.

Cheers,
Ed

Thanks for the response - didn't work...

For some bizarre reasons, I can see my file structure in the files pane, but can't find any files that will allow me to live-preview the site.

Cheers
Keith

PS. I'm beginning to think the idea of learning to manage my own site sucks...

Just noticed, when I click on my site in the file manager, then hit live-view in the main window, Iit comes up with the following bizarre address:

file:///C|/xampp/htdocs/gruntfiles/templates/index.html

I have re-edited the settings several times, and even changed the address in the address-bar, but it keeps reverting back to this weird address?

Hi Keith,

This is a question for one of us who has Dreameaver, which I don't use any more. I'll ask someone else to take a look at it.

Cheers,
Ed

Hi Keith,

Could you give the following tutorial a try please?
www.joomla4web.com/blog/integrating-drea...15-or-joomla-16.html

The official adobe tutorial is not working for me at the moment, but perhaps it's a temporary issue so here's the URL:
tv.adobe.com/watch/learn-dreamweaver-cs5...with-cms-frameworks/

Kind regards,
Nick

Hi Klit,

Xampp is more of a standalone program, so you don't need to have apache installed and I think they are both conflicting with each other.

Can you uninstall xampp or apache/php/mysql. (Preferably your apache server)

Warm Regards,

Tessa Mero
