I have a site named Your text to link here.... The site contains eight buttons that I want to point to eight different mp3's. I would like to set it up so a user can click on a button (song title) and have that song play without going to a separate page and then having to click on a link in said page.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi dapster,

There are over 70 audio players in the JED for Joomla 2.5 and most of them will allow you to do that. Research this list. extensions.joomla.org/search?q=audio+player&t%5B%5D=4247

If you don't find what you want there, expand your search to media or multimedia plugins. Most video and multimedia players also have an option for audio.

Cheers,
Ed

Thanks Ed. I don't know if you looked at the site but what I want is to enable the user to click on the button of choice and have the music, that is labelled on the button, to start playing in a player. Now, the user must click on the button of choice which send him to a page where he has to click on the link there in order to hear the music. It seems that this is an unnecessary extra step.

Thanks again

I tried to look at the site, but it didn't work, so I couldn't see what you mean.
"Oops! This link appears broken."
Why am I seeing this message?

Google Chrome can show suggestions for the page you were trying to reach, if it is unable to connect to the web address. Instead of a cryptic error message, you'll see suggestions to navigate to other parts of the website or to search for the page with Google.

Often the webpage can't be found because it's temporarily down. To check if this is the issue, try opening the page in other browsers, such as Firefox or Internet Explorer.

You might have to embed in a module. Then it will work like you want. If you want to use an actual menu item, you might be able to combine using an external link type with a url for one of the players that will play background music.

The java script for the player has to be loaded with or embedded in the page. Otherwise it will always open up a new browser to start the player.

Sorry about that. The site is Your text to link here.... If that doesn't work, try www.aeroplanemusic.org.

Thanks

Hi Dapster,

You should use one of the mp3 modules available on the JED. Here's the direct link to the Audio Players & Gallery category on the JED:
extensions.joomla.org/extensions/multime...io-players-a-gallery

Use the modules will allow you to keep everything on one page.

Kind regards,
Nick
