I recently migrated from Joomla 1.5 to 2.5 with Virtuemart. I first upgraded Virtuemart to 1.9, then migrated it to 2.0, then using JUpgrade, migrated Joomla 1.5 to 2.5. The installed Virtuemart 2 and did the migration. (I tried migrating with SPUpgrade first, but for some reason the products and categories didn't transfer to the Database.)
With some minor adjustments (I had to reset the menu that pointed to the Categories and Products pages) it seems to be working ok, EXCEPT for some reason i can't get the Add to Cart button to appear in my details pages.
It is NOT set in catalog mode.
I don't know what other setting might be causing this, and I can't find anything in the Virtuemart forums that addresses this.
I even reset my vmconfig in the Tools section thinking one of my settings caused it, but it still is missing.
Anyone know why this is happening?
(Ultimately, my plan is to use this as an order form, so no prices need to show and I don't need a payment or shipping method, because ones the order is submitted, a sales rep will call to complete the transaction.)

Hi Ellen,

Can we get a url to the upgraded site so we can see what's happening? And can you point to the problem?

After upgrading did you go to the Extension manager and use the database tab to fix the databas and the discover tab to make sure everything was "discovered". Finally the upgrade tab to make sure all the plugins are up to date?

If you didn't that would be the first thing to do.

Second thing would be to reinstall Virtuemart on the new site. Something may have gotten corrupted during the upgrade.

Troubleshooting is a process of elimination so let's eliminate the obvious first. Let me know what happens.
Cheers,
Ed

edandrea, Thanks for responding.I did everything you mentioned- Database, Discover and updates. The url is tinyurl.com/c9yscjl
I know the pages need some styling, but I want to show it with the default settings to be sure it wasn't something I turned on or off in my setting the configurations.
I should mention that I am using a template created with Artisteer, and it is compatible with Joomla 2.5.
I am happy to give you admin access privately if you think it would be helpful. Just let me know how to send it to you.

Are all your products set to "Call for Price"? I'd have to double check but I think the add to cart button doesn't show unless there is a price. Area your prices entered or did you leave the price field blank?

Please let me know,

Ed

Glad we could help. Thanks for including the URL. So many people forget to do that, and sometimes a quick look tells you right away what needs to be done.

The site looks like it's going to be pretty nice. Delicious!

Cheers,
Ed
