Hi,
I would like to Update my Theme but I am not sure that I want to just override the new files over since I have made some minor custom changes.

On the Download recommendations from Rockettheme says:
"To update your template, either download the latest template packages from the Hybrid download section and replace your template, or if you have made customizations, a listing of the changed and added files and directories can be found in the template's changelog."

I can not find this changelog files and do not understand how to upload only the changes.

Here is the detailed link for the update on my theme:
www.rockettheme.com/joomla-updates/1481-...-165-update-released

What would you recommend?

Thank you!

Hi Kriss,

What they mean is they have listed the changes they made in the changelog, so that you can compare those with the files you changed. Then make adjustments to the chaneged files or overwrite them with yours.

Probably the safest thing to do is create a new Joomla install in another directory, and tweak it until it has all your changes, then copy the updated files to your original site.

In the future, you might consider using template overrrides.
docs.joomla.org/Understanding_Output_Overrides

I think that's the safest thing to do.

Cheers,
Ed

Hi Kriss,

You're welcome. Keep at it. Ask more questions if you get stuck.

Cheers,
Ed
