Unpublished MultiLanguage Status Module 1 year 4 days ago #46772

Hi

I am running FaLang along with HikaShop on Joomla 2.5.4 and so far it all seems to be working well allowing me to start translating my site and shop into Italian... ANDIAMO!

I came across this "MultiLanguage Status" Module on my Admin Modules page. Is it a part of Joomla Language or FaLang? What is it for and should I publish it?

Thanks

Scott

Hi Scott,

Search for it in Extensions >> Extension Manager >> Manage (tab). There it will list the author information, etc.

Kind regards,
Nick

Hi Nick,

1) Ok so it is a joomla file as shown in second pic. But here it shows status as enabled, while on modules manager page, it is disabled???? Which one is it?

2) And how can we find out what this module is supposed to do? I assume that is is for the back end. Any ideas?

Thanks
Scott

Hi Scott,

That's a new module that was added in J1.7. Here are the docs on it community.joomla.org/blogs/community/150...e-status-module.html

See if that clears up the mystery and if not, ask some more questions.

Cheers,
Ed

Thanks Ed,

This module looks pretty harmless and I am guessing not cause any problems with FaLang, so I will enable it and check it out. Thanks!

I have now discovered a disabled plugin [also not part of FaLang] called "Language Code Plugin". Can you help me figure out what this one is for, if I should publish it, and if it will cause conflicts with FaLang?

regards
Scott

Hi Scott,

You're welcome! We're glad to be of help!

Click on it and you can read the description in the bottom left. Basically, it allows you to change the language code (e.g. fr-FR) that is generated by Joomla. Here's an example that is also provided:
One has installed the fr-FR language pack and wants the Search Engines to recognize the page as aimed at French-speaking Canada. Add the tag 'fr-CA' to the corresponding field for 'fr-FR' to resolve this.

It's unlikely to work with FaLang though.

Kind regards,
Nick

Thanks Nick,

I published this plugin, and looked around for where I could change this language Tag, but could not find it. plugin says "fields will appear where Tag can be edited" for better SEO.

Regards

Scott

PS

also published multilanguage status module and am playing with it to see if it is of any use.
