Thanks.

Hi Cheryl,

What Joomla version are you using?

Please try setting error reporting to maximum in your global configuration's server tab. Hopefully that will produce a detailed error message for you rather than a blank page.

Kind regards,
Nick

Nick,

I just received this error message when I tried to go into the Global Configuration section.

Fatal error: Cannot make non static method JCacheStorage::test() static in class JCacheStorageCachelite in /home/wjyouthp/public_html/libraries/joomla/cache/storage/cachelite.php on line 334

What exactly does this mean? I suspect it has something to do with the jUpgrade installation, but I could be wrong.

I'm using the Joomla 1.5.26 version.

Hi Cheryl,

Use Admin Tools to reinstall the Joomla core. Here's our tutorial on it:

I followed the instructions and still got the same message. Do you suggest I uninstall Admin Tolls, then reinstall it?

Hi Cheryl,

No, there's no need to reisntall Admin Tools. You just have to make sure to use Admin Tools to reinstall the Joomla core version (not just upgrade).

Hope this helps!

Nick

Hi Cheryl,

I got the global configuration and media manager to work by deleting:
libraries/joomla/session/storage/wincache.php

I compared your site to a clean 1.5.26 install and wincache.php is not in the core, however it is in the Joomla 2.5.4 core. So my guess is that at some point you mixed Joomla 2.5 with 1.5 files (which shouldn't be done).

Hope this helps!

Kind regards,
Nick

Hi Cheryl,

If you've mixed files from the two versions, the easiest way to fix it is to install J2.5 in a new directory and add all your modules and plugins in. Then change the database connection in configuration.php to point to your original data base and see if it's all working. If it works, move the original install and replace it with the new one.

You could spend many hours comparing directories and trying to track down 1.5 files in a 2.5 install. So a clean install connected to the original database usually works.

Cheers,
Ed

Thanks Ed.

Just for further clarification, when you say the original database, you're referring to the one in the J1.5 install, correct?

Thanks Nick. I wasn't sure if you had fixed things. I want to migrate my other sites as well, but after this last mishap, I'm nervous again!

I'm still going to try though! :)

Thanks all!
