My site is in the process of being upgraded from Joomla 1.5 to 2.5 and I am working in a test site right now. My forms wont export from my old version to the new version, so I am having to re-create them. However, the new version of Chronoforms is not very user-friendly to me at all! And the new version doesn't look anything like what I was used to in the old version. I worked my way through, and did what I thought was correct, but it is not showing when I click to "Frontend View". I looked online and found one crappy tutorial that didn't help at all. Anyway you guys can point me in the right direction?

What exactly is the issue?

Is the element names not pulling the elements in your database? Have you opened phpmyadmin and made sure things were matching up to your form elements?

Have you clicked on "Update database"?

I got rid of the white page by backing up the two manually created forms then uninstalling Chronforms. Then I reinstalled Chronoforms and restored the forms. Voila! :) It took a while to figure out but at least it works now.

Hey Nick. Yes, that was the "tutorial" I was referring to. :(

I still don't see the form when I click on "Frontend View" (attached file) in the forms manager.... And I did not do the "test" form that is there.

It is still acting the same on the front end of the test site.

I go to "Classifieds" page (top menu item). When I click on the "Classified Ads Order Form" ad, it takes me to the Classified Chronoform that was created in the current site - (NOT THE ONE THAT IS IN THE CHRONOFORMS MANAGE).

Also, When I click on the "Subscribe" (top menu item) from the "Home" page, it looks like the attached file. BUT - when I go to the classifieds page, click on my Classifieds Order ad, it opens a new window, then I click on the "subscribe" menu item and it takes me to my subscription order form - of which I have not even attempted to create in the test site and it is not in the forms manager.

I switched the form so that it's pointing to the "Test" form and the "Test" form works well. That means the "ClassifiedAd_Submit" form wasn't created correctly. Could you try recreating it as "ClassifiedAd"?

In the subscribe menu item, you can switch forms by simply changing the form field "Form Name". So for the "Form Name" field you'd put "ClassifiedAd" to test the "ClassifiedAd" form.

Alright. So I made a copy of the "test" form and edited it to make my "ClassifiedAd_Submit" form. I did a couple tests, and found that when I upload a file, it doesn't attach to the email it sends when I submit my form. I must not have it configured right. And I don't understand the "help" tab for "Files Upload". Photo attached...

Woohoo! Several steps closer! :)

When you're in the Wizard edit for the form, in the Drop side (right side) go to the "Emails" tab. Then click "(Click to configure)". Then you should fill in the "Attachment Fields name". I think for your photo it's "input_file_10".

The help explanation can be ignored as it's mostly for advanced users.

The "Attachment Fields Name" is there as "input_file_10". But my pic is not attaching to the email.

I just double checked for you. You haven't inserted it in there. Please try the following:
1) Go to components >> chronoforms
2) Click on "Wizard edit" next to "ClassifiedAd_Submit"
3) Click on the "Emails" tab (right side).
4) Click "Email - Email to Classifieds (Click to configure)"
5) Look for "Attachments fields name"
6) Enter "input_file_10" in the field.
7) Save

Hope this helps! By the way, I updated your Joomla version to Joomla 2.5.3 since there was a major security release.

Chronoforms isn't the most intuitive, so it's not your fault. Looks like you now have to also enter the "input_file_10:jpg-png-gif" in the "File Uploads" tab >> Upload Files (Click to configure).

There are 2 blank fields here...

I tried it entering "ClassifiedAd_Submit:jpg-png-gif" in both fields and neither one worked.

I'm looking for it as an attachment to the email... am I correct in looking for it that way?

PS: I changed the form name from ClassifiedAd_Submit to ClassifiedAdSubmit. Took out underscore...

No there is a tool to email the form, but I don't like how it emails the whole form whether a selection was made or not on all the options. I would like to streamline the email a bit so those getting the order don't have to wade through a bunch of stuff to get the info they need.

Hi Lori,

Go to your form >> "Emails" tab >> "Email - Email to Classifieds (Click to configure)" >> "Template" tab.

That will get you to the email template. You can use HTML and PHP within there to customize it as you'd like.
