HI,

I am trying to install an extension "Portfolio Zen". I downloaded it
and when trying to install I get the error message "Cannot Find XML setup file"
I tried extracting the the GZ file with winzip and reinstalling. Then I get
the error "Unknown archive type"

Any help would be appreciated.

Brian

Hi Brian,

What Joomla version are you using? Are you able to install any other extensions?

Please copy and paste the file name so that we can take a quick look.

Kind regards,
Nick

Hi Brian,

I just clicked on the link, downloaded the 1.6 package, and installed it on my 2.5.4 site without any issues.

Because you are getting this issue, it probably means your server cannot handle installing that many files at once. (Unpacking files). I just looked in the Portfolio Zen folder and there are a lot of files!

Your server most likely has a limitation. You can work around this by uploading extracted files to tmp/portfoliozen (or whatever) and go into Extension Manager > Discover > Purge Cache > Discover (top right) and find the extension and click Install.

Let me know if you have any questions. We will be happy to help.
Warm Regards,

Tessa Mero
