Template change 1 year 5 days ago #46505

I downloaded a template, it has a slider at the top of the front page with 4 or 5 pictures that rotate. I want the slider but I want to change the pictures. I have been thru the control panel at the back end of the site and the cpanel at the site host and cannot find the pictures or the module that controls them. How???.
Thanks
Lynne

Hi Lynne,

1) What Joomla version are you using?
2) What template are you using?
3) Does the template provider have documentation for the template and slider?
4) Could we get a link to the site to take a quick look?

Kind regards,
Nick

Hi
I think that this is your template.
www.themegoat.com/new-joomla-2-5-template-malita
and these are the template positions.
www.themegoat.com/how-to-set-module-positions-in-joomla-1-6

If you go to the template manager you will see that in the options the slide show is built in- you can adjust the parameters.
Here is a video of the set up for your template. The slide show is at the end of the video.

Hope this helps.
Best Regards
Mark

As far as I can tell I have set the template up as demonstrated in the video but I still do not see how to change the pictures in the slider.

Hi
Prepare your images to the correct size and upload them to the media manager you might want to place them in a new folder called slideshow. Go to template manager and click on your new template in the parameter you will see display slideshow aclick to show. Below you enter the url - try images/slideshow/yourslide.jpg.
You can also enter a caption. Repeat for each image.

Hi Lynne
How are you getting on?
For the slider I only knew that it had been integrated into the template from viewing the video - I have not come across this before!

Hi Mark
Not so well, I can see in the template manager where the captions for the slides go, but not where a url is that locates the slides that came with the tempate which could be changed to display my pictures
Maybe the template designer did not want the pictures changed.

Check the plugin manager for a slideshow plugin. You may be able to set the path in the plugin parameters.

Let us know.
Cheers,
Ed
