TOPIC: sub menu

sub menu 1 year 1 month ago #44432

On my homepage I would like a menu item that has sub-menus that are links.
For Example

Helpful Links
Michigan Bee Association
Kalamazoo Bee Club
Mid-Michigan Bee Club

I have the "helpful links" showing on the home page as a menu item but cannot create the subs under the the menu item. When a person clicks on the sub menu i.e., Michigan Bee Association I want the Michigan Bee Associations web page to be where you go, not to an article that has the link.
Is this possible?
Lynne

Hi Lynne,

You can set the menu item type to be of type "External Link" :)

Let me know if you get stuck and, if so, in which step you're stuck.

Kind regards,
Nick

External link worked...thank you!
However, I still cannot get the menu to line up correctly on the front page. I go to the module manager then module menu. Put in the menu name. Menu name only shows on the front page if I check all the pages under menu assignment. Wnen it shows on the front page all for the Lead Menu items have the same sub menus listed underneath. I am not sure I am using the correct wording here.

ABOUT COMB
Home
Minutes
Meeting Schedule

ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS
Home
Minutes
Meeting Schedule

LINKS
Home
Minutes
Meeting Schedule

What I want is the top menu, ABOUT COMB to have these titles underneath, but I want all the rest... Activities and Events, Links, etc. to have different submenus. I.E.

ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS
Trade Show
Honey Festival

I do not know what "toggle" to activate/deactivate to do this.

In case this is not making sense, the url is combbees.org

Hi Lynne,

Great! I'm glad it worked!

In Menu Manager, you have to make a separate menu for each menu that you'd like. Then once those menus (and their respective menu items are created), then you'd have to assign the menu module in menu manager.

So let's do "ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS" as an example. You'd go to:
1) Menus (top menu)
2) Menu Manager (sub menu)
3) Create new menu, call it activities and events
4) Create the Trade Show and Honey Festival menu items
5) Extensions (top menu)
6) Module manager (sub menu)
7) Create a new module of type "Menu"
8) Configure appropriately and select your "ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS"

Hope this helps!

Kind regards,
Nick
