Hi Everyone - My RocketTheme templates have built in module suffixes, some for the style of the divs and others for titles, margins and padding.
On this page here theres a h2 displaying 'Physician Locator'
Is there a way to target things like this and easily add the template styling to them? (like seen in the module headings on the main directory tab)
Many Thanks, - Scott

Hi Scott,

Yes, you can create your own class suffixes (see documentation below) and then use the page class suffix option within your menu item. Here's the documentation for class suffixes:
docs.joomla.org/Using_Class_Suffixes

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have questions.

Kind regards,
Nick

Hi Nick,
Thanks for your help, but I'm still lost.
I don't get it.
On the front page of my site I have an article with this:
<div class="title5 floatleft">
  <div class="module-title">
    <h2 class="title">Submit Weblinks To Scoliosis Directory</h2>
  </div>
  {loadposition foxform}</div>
This lets me create the same title I want in an article (forget the foxform bit)
- Or using the module suffix 'title4' (I dont add any spaces or underscores) I get the same thing in a module (with an arrow image and no underline).
I have a bit of an issue with that 'Physician Locator' page title since 'Show Page Heading' is set to off in the menu item. I don't even know why its showing.
I do want it to show, but I want it the same as the rest of the site.
I'm Lost on this,
- Scott

Hi Scott,

Which specific part are you stuck on?

Your "Physician Locator" page doesn't look like it has any page class suffixes applied to.

As to the title, check for "Show Title" in the Article Options of the Menu Item rather than "Show Page Heading" in the Page Display Options of the Menu Item. The later is used in the Browser title.

Kind regards,
Nick

Hi Nick,
Thanks for your reply. How are you?
I think the 'Show Title' was set to global, but even when I set it to hide, it would not get rid of that title.
I'm not even sure whether I'll keep it or get rid of it, (the title) I guess I want to see how it looks styled first then I'll decide.
Primarily what I'm asking is how to easily assign an existing rockettheme class to something that does not have that styling. - Not neccecarily create a new class with the suffix and write all new css rules for the styling of that new class - if you get me. I've seen JCE does something that lets you choose from existing template classes - this is something I'd like to understand a little better. (but this situation is not article content) I think the suffix is made more for 1-off situations in the site? I'd be happy to make all H2's on my site that class if I knew how to.

That Joomla suffixes page is scary.
Arrows pointing here there and everywhere.
You guys should create one of your own thats not so stressful on the brain.
Its only early in the day yet, I'll have a play around some more and let you know how I went with it later on.
Thanks,
- Scott

Hi Scott,

Just FYI we are preparing a course on templates and I can give you a link to the one on module suffixes. www.ostraining.com/courses/session/jooml...-bolt/module-stling/

You'll have to be logged in to our site to see it. You may be beyond this, but you suggested we do something simpler for suffixes and I thought this might help.

Hi Ed,
Thanks for your reply.
I could use a little better explanation just to drum it all in.
Much appreciated.

HI Scott,

That's why we're creating some mini-courses that will be available to members. Hopefully we can give you some practical examples and some practice. Let us know if you have any topic suggestions.

Cheers,
Ed
