I've been pulling my hair out trying to find a component - or work with one I already use to do the following but not achieve the resutls I am after. I need for registered members of a site to be able to register for a staff roster - if possible - one click from a calendar.
The client is a volunteer ambulance service who have found themselves in the lurch after their windows server based system failed and the guy who custom programmed it for them does not want to rebuild it for them. Being a community volunteer organisation that relies on public and community fundraising, I've offered to take a crack at it in joomla and waive my fees - they're just paying for any software I need to purchase.
They need their volunteer paramedics to be able to login, open the roster page and then click on the specified shifts to register their availability/on call status. Their user details need to carry through form their login and once they click on a shift, their attendance of that shift needs to be displayed to other users and the events limited to 3 'attendees'. The rosters are always the same, four x six hour shifts beginning at 00:00, 06:00, 12:00 and 18:00. Three paramedics are required for each shift.
I'm currently trying to mod JEvents and RSVP, but just falling short, although I have not given up on Jevents/RSVP being the solution.
Quite happy to pay any reasonable fee for someone to custom modify or write something if needed, but again, I know the client is not flushed with money.
Does anyone have any ideas?
