Hi,
I'm using Bolt and Joomla 1.5.25 and when I enable the cache in the global configuration (would like to enable it to gain some speed), the splitmenu doesn't show. Id I switch cache off, it comes back...
This is something happening to all my webs.

Any ideas? Why does this happen? How can I have cache and splitmenus?

Thanks!

Hi
After enabling cache have you tried clearing and purging the system cache plus the browser cache then view the site.
A link to the site would be helpful just so that we can check to make sure the split menu fails in our browsers.
It would also be a good idea to upgrade to 1.5.26
Regards
Mark

Hi Marc,

thanks for your answer.

These two urls should have Splitmenus descargar-juego-poker.com/juego-poker.html and descargar-juego-poker.com/descarga-juego-poker.html

Cache is on now, but please let me know when you have checked if you can see the splitmenu or not (since I'd rather prefer to have the cache off and the splitmenu showing...)

I purged the cache, but did not uprgrade. This is happening to all my webs since I have them.

Thank you.

PD: I found this googling www.theartofjoomla.com/joomla-caching-explained.html and am wondering if I should put global cache on but deactivate for the modules splitmenu etc.

Just want to wait if you can see the splitmenus before giving it a shot. Thanks.

Hi Rekelele,

Do you have any option that says "JS Compatibility"? Try setting that to 'no' if it's on 'yes'.

Hi,
where can I find the "JS Compatibility".

I switched global cache on and in the splitmenu and menu module in parameters the cache off and now my splitmenu is showing.

But I don't know if im generating also problems with other modules because of enabling cache?

And Firebug Google Pagespeed gives me the same speednumber wether cache is on or off - how can that be??

Hi
Something to try -in Debug Site in Global Configuration make sure it is switched to Off.
In module manager go to your menu module and in advanced parameters set as no caching.
At the moment I can see your split menus; caching is probably set to off.

Hi Mark,

caching in on (and Debug Site was off) - I did the following:

I switched global cache on and in the splitmenu and menu module in parameters the cache off and now my splitmenu is showing.

What I am no sure about is if now that the splitmenu works maybe there are other modules that wil have problems with the cache?

And Firebug Google Pagespeed gives me the same speednumber wether cache is on or off - how can that be??

Glad the menu problem is sorted. With modules you can turn off caching in each one. Try this site for speed checks www.webpagetest.org/ it might show a difference.
You would also need to get somebody else to confirm this but I think that cache is disabled for Super Users so make sure you are signed out before testing.
