I have a couple of questions regarding Tabs & Sliders [for articles] (by JoomlaWorks) in use with K2.
  • How to I get it to print with the slide headings. (my setup is as follows: 2 tab with many sliders in the tabs)?
  • is there a JCE (or even a Joomla button) available, I have to edit a large amount of articles and am a bit lazy/not interested in having to enter everything manually ;)
  • Can I link to a tab or slide and if it is hidden it should open, if yes how?

Thanks in advance,
Chaim :)

Hi Chiam,

I don't really understand your questions. Your third question is missing some words so it's not clear what you're asking.

Could you break this up into separate posts and give us a little more info on each one as well. A link so we could see what you're referring to would be a big help.

Thanks
Ed

Ed,

Sorry for not being clear with my questions. I edited the original question (and will explain it further shortly). I didnt want to break it up into smaller topics as they are all related to the same product. Unfortunately, I cannot provide a link as I am testing it on my dev machine (win7 x64 using xampp)

Q1. When entering print view (by clicking on the print icon), only the first tab will print, however in doing so it will not print the slider headers (please see the uploaded image). What we would like to do is to print the article on one page without the sliders and tabs, but the the titles. My current setup is {slider=title}text{/slider} it is the title from the slider that I would like to display on the print view.

Q2. do you know if there is a JCE button available to insert the proper tags instead of having to do so manually (I have a lot of articles that would need editing).

Q3. Can I link to a slider item using an anchor (anything enclosed within the {slider}{/slider} tag), and when the user clicks on the link (from another article), they will go to the proper tab and slider item.

I hope this clarified my questions, please let me know if you need any more information,
Chaim :)

This would depend on the print view template file. I don't know exactly how this third party extension interacts with or replaces the print view template. I don't have this installed anywhere. I'll try to get it up on a test site and see if I can give you some tips, but if you can get the answer from Joomlaworks it might better.
Q2. do you know if there is a JCE button available to insert the proper tags instead of having to do so manually (I have a lot of articles that would need editing).

You might be able to use JCE plugin for this www.joomlacontenteditor.net/support/docu...ate-manager/94-about
or
www.ostraining.com/blog/joomla/content-templater/
Q3. Can I link to a slider item using an anchor (anything enclosed within the {slider}{/slider} tag), and when the user clicks on the link (from another article), they will go to the proper tab and slider item.

I believe you can do this. However, I haven't used this extension for a while. I suggest you install it and try it. You'll know if it works right away.

I'll install the plugin and see what I can check out.
Ed

Ed,

Did yo have any luck with the printing Q1. I didnt find anything on the joomlaworks forums:(

Q2, it does not look like there is a button for JCE, or a Joomla editor button.

Q3, does not seem to work, any idea how to make it work (say I am in 1 tab [or slider] and would like to go to another tab or slide via an html anchor)?

Chaim :)

Hi Chaim,

1) That's not a feature of the extension and so is not possible without custom coding, which is not covered under our support policy. Sorry about that! Your best bet would be to contact the extension developers directly.

2) Unfortunately, there isn't.

3) Unfortunately, that's not a feature either. See #1.

With that being said, I'd recommend that you give Tabber a try instead:
extensions.joomla.org/extensions/news-di.../articles-tabs/14493

It has a lot more features and two of the three additional ones that you're looking for:

1) Still not a feature

2) It has a button below the text area.

3) See:
www.nonumber.nl/extensions/tabber/userguide#6_Link-to-tabs

Hope this helps! :)

Kind regards,
Nick

Nick,

Sorry for not posting back any earlier. while I had initially wanted to stay away from using 2 separate extensions when there was one that had both features, I played with tabber and slider by nonumber, and it seems to do the job.

Thanks for your help,
Chaim :)
