TOPIC: setting site offline blocks my registered user

setting site offline blocks my registered user 10 months 3 weeks ago #50618

Hi, Working on my 2.5 test site. I thought that a registered user could log into website even when I have it set to offline right? I just put site to offline and when I try to log onto site as a registered user to see settings [as non super user] I am blocked from entering site.

I am almost certain that I was able to access site like this in past. What have I changed to cause this. I can still access site as my super-user... and can access site as non-registered user by putting site online.

Any ideas?
Thanks,
Scott

Hi Scott,

When your site is offline, only super users can access the site. :-)

Hi Scott,

There are some plugins for that.

extensions.joomla.org/extensions/miscellaneous/offline

In 1.5 you could do a minor hack and make it work. I don't know if you can hack it for 2.5. I haven't found any reference to it. Maybe the plugins will help.

Cheers,
Ed
