I've been trying to set op forms with RSform (using you totorial). Setting up the forms works fine. Only one thing, after submitting a form, I get the message in yelow and red: Cannot apply the mailfunction (or something like that, it is written in Dutch). Anyway, the mails are not send and I cannot find what can be wrong. Any idea?

HI Maurice,

First thing to check is your global configuration mail method, and see if there is a setting for mail method in RSForms and that they are the same. If the mail method is SMTP then make sure the usernames and passwords are correct in global configuration.

See if there are settings that need to be fixed. Then I think we're going to have to get the Dutch translated by RS!

In the meantime if you can paste the error message in a reply, I'll see if it offers any clues.

I do not see a method for RSforms. The method used is php mail. Should that work?
The error message i get is: Kan mailfunctie niet uitvoeren. Wich is translated: Cannot execute mailfunction.
I work on a local pc (WAMP). Might that be the problem?

Do you have RsForms configured to send you an email upon user submission (I am using RS Forms Pro - so it might be a bit different. Components -> RS Forms ->Manage Forms -> [Form Name] -> Properties Tab -> User/Admin/Additional Emails -> "configurations") You need to have the following fields configured "From" "From Name" and "Subject"

If yes please make sure that your site is setup to send email (you might have to play around a bit to figure it out, it isn't too complicated (check out www.ostraining.com/courses/session/jooml...lobal-configuration/ at around 6 minutes into the video for Joomla 1.5).

I am using RSforms Pro as well. And yes, everything looks like all is configured correctly.
And I checked the setup to send the email, but could not find anything strange or missing there.

Maybe Ed still has a clue?

Maurice, you have to have a mail client installed on your local server. Here's an article that discusses it.

Check your WAMP installation and the WAMP documentation to see if it's set up right.
