Underneath the main slider, above the main article titled "Michael J.P. Frame", there is a "HOME" text there that isn't even a link. How can I remove that all together?

To remove the title from being displayed on the front page of your site, you need to change a parameter setting in the front page component.

First log into the administrative back end.
On the top menu click "Menu"->"mainmenu"
Click "Home".
On the right side of the screen in the parameters section, locate the “Page Title” parameter that is next to the radio buttons “Show” and “Hide”.
Click the “Hide” radio button.
Click the “Save” button to make your change permanent.

I went to the area you specified on the home page and I couldn't find the "parameter section" or the "radio button" section? Please see attached file.

You are so close. All the settings on the right hand side are being referred to as "parameters". If you go to "Page Display Options" and click the radio button for "show Page Heading" to No. The section that you want is just missing from the bottom of your image.
