TOPIC: regarding menu placement

regarding menu placement 1 year 3 weeks ago #47325

Is there a way to have a menu module installed so that it is both a horizontal menu and not in a header position? Say I have two column layout with the idea of having the menu at the top of the right module ( box container for text). here's a quick sketch...perhaps a plugin one can insert shortcode in a regular article and style it there?
thanks in advance

Hi Ed and welcome to OSTraining. :-)

If you create a menu module in your "right" position, as you know, will go in the vertical type. To create the links in a horizontal style, you can change that using CSS code. the display:inline; code should make it horizontal.

It really depends on your template structure also.

Do you have a link to your site or are you doing research right now?

Remember, you have full control of your website and how it is displayed by just doing some code altering. :-) We also provide coding courses if you are interested. =]
Warm Regards,

I've been viewing templates at various venders and they all show menus above the page so to speak. Can you point me to a template where the menu module can be placed as shown in the example drawing?

Hi Ed,

Almost all companies are going to place them in the top or left column, as that's usually standard. I can't think of any that do it otherwise.

With that being said, those are the particular places that they have decided to display the menu module. However, technically a menu module can be placed in any module position, so if you'd like it to be in the top right, you can do so if your template has that module position.

You could also create your own template (or customize a pre-existing one) as you'd like it using our Template Design class:

Hope this helps! Let us know if you have any questions.

Kind regards,
Nick
