I have a regested website that has files and handouts uploaded to it. Is there anyway to protect the content of the directory where the files are stored so that they can only be accessed by people who are logged into the site?

Right now as long as you have the file path you can get the files :(

Thanks in advance!

Amy

Hi Amy,

Yes, you can use a download manager:
extensions.joomla.org/extensions/directo...umentation/downloads

Almost all of them have built-in leaching protection.

Kind regards,
Nick

Hi Nick,

Thanks so much! I didn't even know what it was called :) I'll look through there. Do you have a particular one that you recommend?

I already have a lot of files up on the site both audio and pdf. The group is a bit older in age as a whole (not that being old keeps you off the web :)) so making major changes to the look or functions of the site might confuse a good bit of the class.

If you don't have anything off the top of your head it's not a problem :) Just wondering. . .

All the best,

Amy
